Privacy Policy

The short version
You can play Middle Riddle without giving us your name, email address, phone number, or precise location. We use a random player ID and limited gameplay events to run and improve the game. We do not sell personal information or show ads.
What stays on your device
Your browser uses local storage and Firebase browser storage for game progress, guesses, results, scores, streak history, and the random player ID. This lets the game restore your progress and show your statistics. Clearing Middle Riddle’s site data removes this local copy and resets the game on that device. We do not use advertising cookies.
What reaches us
When you play, we receive a random player ID, the Middle Riddle and difficulty you play, completed-puzzle summaries, likes or dislikes, shares, onboarding steps, errors, and related timestamps. Guesses stay on your device. We do not connect this information to a name or email address.
How we use information
We use this information to show aggregate statistics, prevent duplicate result reports, understand how the game is used, and keep it working. We do not use it for advertising or to build a marketing profile.
Technical information
Like most websites, Middle Riddle and the companies that help deliver and protect it may process basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, request details, and security signals. This information is used to provide, secure, and troubleshoot the game.
Service providers
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Google Firebase and Google Cloud provide anonymous authentication, App Check, database, functions, operational logs, and the optional feedback form. OpenAI and Cloudflare infrastructure help deliver the site; OpenAI also generates future riddle content without receiving player guesses. These providers may process request, device, security, and account information under their own terms.
Retention and deletion
We keep gameplay records and aggregate statistics for as long as needed to operate, improve, and protect Middle Riddle. You can delete the copy stored on your device by clearing the site’s data in your browser. This resets your local history and streak and cannot be undone.
Sharing your results
Sharing happens only when you choose it. Your device sends the result to the app or service you select, and that service’s privacy policy applies.
Children’s privacy
Middle Riddle is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
